The Institut Pasteur de Tunis in Tunis, Tunisia, has been selected to be the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Training Centre supported by TDR. This is the sixth and final centre to be chosen for the TDR network, which is designed to expand and coordinate training courses across multiple countries, leading to improved use of health interventions.
TDR Director John Reeder visited the site as part of the review process. “It feels great to be completing this network, which will not only provide expanded training in this region, but also support the other 5 regions so that they learn from each other. The Tunis centre is a valuable partner in this growing shared knowledge base.Dr Hechmi Louzir, Director of the Institute Pasteur in Tunis (IPT), said, “We’re looking forward to sharing knowledge in our region and worldwide, and having this designation helps build solid science and real field experience.”

The objective of this meeting was to evaluate the actions carried out during the Center's 2017 mandate, to define the priorities and the trainings to be organized for the year 2018-2019 and to discuss the Workplan 2018 – 2019.
